Shepherd's songs
Christmas and folk music performed with bagpipe and shawm by Mario Spolidoro and Giovanni Borraro
In Moena, the magic of Christmas comes to life with the arrival of the "zampognari" (bagpipers), guardians of an ancient custom of pastoral origin. At 5 p.m., Salento musicians Giovanni Borraro ("ciaramella" or shawm) and Mario Spolidoro ("zampogna" or bagpipe), dressed in traditional costumes, will animate the streets of the centre with Christmas melodies and popular Neapolitan songs. Amidst the market stalls, the warm sound of the bagpipes mingles with the sunset over the "Roda de Vael" (a stunning mountain peak in the Catinaccio group), the twinkling lights, the horse carousel and the enveloping scent of mulled wine, providing an unforgettable experience for all ages!
