Author’s recommendation
The Austro-Hungarian Path starts from the viewpoint and leads to the casinei of Dromaè. Along the path, the huts and trenches where Austrian soldiers spent the years of the war can be seen. It is a nice alternative to the forest road.

Safety Tips
- Choose routes according to your physical and technical abilities, researching the area to be visited, the accessibility of the trails, and equipping yourself with an appropriate hiking map.
- Provide suitable clothing and equipment for the effort and length of the hike and carry in your backpack the necessary items for emergency situations and a first aid kit.
- It is advisable not to go hiking alone in the mountains. In any case, tell someone the route you plan to take and notify them of your return.
- Check the weather forecast and constantly monitor the weather development.
- If in doubt, turn back. Sometimes it is better to give up rather than find yourself in difficulty due to bad weather or engaging in challenges beyond your strength, abilities, or equipment.
- Avoid unnecessarily leaving the trail and taking shortcuts.
- All listed routes take place in a natural environment. Hiking them means accepting the risk related to practicing a sport in nature.
The information contained in this guide is subject to unavoidable changes, so no indication has absolute value. Equipment
Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to cope with unexpected events such as sudden thunderstorms or loss of energy.
What to bring for a mountain trekking?
In the backpack (for a day hike usually a 25/30L is recommended) it is advisable to bring:
- water bottle (1L)
- snack (e.g., dried fruit or chocolate)
- first aid kit
- windbreaker jacket
- a fleece sweater
- spare t-shirt and socks (preferably closed in a plastic bag)
- worn or at least carried in the backpack a pair of long trousers
- cap
- sunscreen
- sunglasses
- gloves
- whistle to get attention in case of emergency
Wear shoes suitable for the route and season. The trail surface may be irregular or uneven and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep path, if wet, can become dangerous without appropriate footwear.
Lastly... don’t forget the camera! It will be useful to capture the hike and the countless breathtaking views that Garda Trentino hides around every corner. If you want to share your memories with us, you can use the hashtag #GardaTrentino
