    Safety information

    Safety Tips

    1. Choose paths that correspond to your physical and technical skills. Inform yourself about the area and the condition of the paths and obtain a suitable hiking map.
    2. Wear appropriate clothing and pack the right equipment for the length and difficulty of the hike. Bring emergency equipment, including a first aid kit.
    3. It is recommended not to undertake mountain hikes alone and in any case to inform someone before starting about your planned hiking route and subsequently about your return.
    4. Check the weather forecast and constantly observe the weather development.
    5. When in doubt, turn back. Sometimes it is better to give up the hike rather than exposing yourself to the risk of a storm or facing difficulties beyond your own strength, skills, and equipment.
    6. Avoid unnecessary deviations and shortcuts.
    7. All described hiking trails are in a natural environment. Use them at your own risk.

All information is subject to regular changes, so none claim to be absolute. Inaccuracies and inconsistencies cannot be completely avoided due to constantly changing environmental and climatic conditions. Therefore, we do not accept any liability for any changes the user may encounter. However, it is strongly recommended to obtain information about the condition of the paths and places as well as about environmental and weather conditions before every hike.

    Equipment

Mountain routes require special clothing and equipment. Even on rather short and easy hikes, you should always have everything necessary with you to avoid unpleasant surprises and be prepared for emergencies, for example sudden thunderstorms or an abrupt drop in fitness.

What you should definitely have with you on trekking routes in the mountains?

Your backpack should contain (for day trips, a backpack with 25-30 liters of storage is usually recommended):

    • Water bottle (1 l)
    • Provisions (for example energy-rich snacks like dried fruit or chocolate)
    • First aid kit
    • Wind jacket
    • Fleece sweater
    • T-shirt and socks to change into (preferably packed in a plastic bag)
    • a pair of long pants (you should at least have these in your backpack)
    • Hat
    • Sunscreen
    • Sunglasses
    • Gloves
    • Emergency whistle

Footwear suitable for the path and the season. Many paths are uneven and bumpy. Shoes should therefore cover the ankle to provide good support and protect against strains and sprains. Especially grassy slopes, rock slabs, or steep paths can quickly become dangerous slippery surfaces when wet without suitable footwear.

And of course, not to forget... a camera to immortalize your route in pictures. This way you can also take home the unique panorama you can enjoy in every corner of Garda Trentino as a souvenir. If you want to share your memories with us: hashtag #GardaTrentino.

    Emergency number is 112.
