Freeride for all tastes at Passo San Pellegrino
The Ski Area of Passo San Pellegrino is undoubtedly one of the TOP destinations in the Dolomites for off-piste ski enthusiasts. Here we present a little-known descent.

This SKI-Area can be defined as "freeride-friendly": off-piste skiing is tolerated and specialized operators monitor the riskiest slopes. You can find medium-length routes of all difficulties, from the wide sunny slopes on the Cima Uomo side, to the steep northern slopes descending from Col Margherita, passing through dozens of lines in the dense larch forests. What is presented here is one of the most interesting routes from a scenic point of view and perhaps also one of the less known. In a few minutes with skis on your shoulder or with skins you reach the summit of Col Margherita, where the view spans from the Pale di San Martino to the Marmolada and the Catinaccio. You are in the heart of the Dolomites, ready to start a descent that often offers excellent powder snow. Have fun!

Safety information
The snow cover stability is subject to sudden and unpredictable changes. Always check the avalanche bulletin (www.meteotrentino.it) and get very well informed about the current conditions at the offices of the Alpine Guides.

It is reminded that off-piste skiing activity within the ski resort areas is regulated and subject to restrictions: be well informed about the existing prohibitions and the presence of possible forbidden zones.
GPX tracks are only indicative of the generally most reasonable route and should not be blindly followed without preliminary evaluation of the slope at that precise moment.
As you can imagine, the feasibility of itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting out, check the status of the route by contacting the refuge managers along your route, the alpine guides, visitor centers of natural parks, and tourist offices.

Equipment
For all off-piste ski excursions, appropriate clothing is recommended, even in case of sudden temperature drops, and that does not get wet in contact with snow (waterproof clothing such as Gore-Tex). Additionally, gloves, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen should be part of each group member's standard equipment.
It is reminded that ski boots that are too tight or not sufficiently waterproof can cause early signs of frostbite on the feet.
It is MANDATORY to carry avalanche self-rescue equipment, consisting of Artva-Shovel-Probe (which can also be rented).
Helmet or other active protection systems (such as backpacks with ABS-Airbag) are highly recommended.
