The Ledro cycle-pedestrian path covers a distance of about 9 kilometers. Mountain biking is the best way to tackle the distance since the trail crosses some sections of unpaved road. However, a road bike can be enough as long as you are careful.

    Safety information

Please note that the accessibility of routes in mountain environments is strongly linked to current conditions and therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained on this page may change. Before starting a route, make sure that the trail you plan to take is still accessible by contacting the refuge manager, alpine guides, or visitor centers of natural parks, or the information offices of the local tourist board.

    Roadbook

The cycle path starts from Molina di Ledro and enters the Concei Valley, reachable by moving from the locality of Bezzecca northwards, gently climbing the slope sculpted by the waters of the Assat river. The cycle path winds along low-traffic secondary roads, alternating with several sections on dedicated cycle paths. The best seasons for this route are spring and autumn. It is worth visiting Molina di Ledro and its Museum of Pile Dwellings because it offers an interesting insight into prehistory in Trentino.

The Ledro section connects the town of Molina di Ledro with the small Lake Ampola. Overall, there are no particularly demanding climbs or slopes, making the route suitable for everyone, including children. From Molina di Ledro, where you can park your car near the Museum of Pile Dwellings, follow the cycle path towards Bezzecca. From here you can choose whether to detour along the Concei Valley or continue along the Ledro Valley cycle path, passing through the hamlets of Tiarno di Sotto and Tiarno di Sopra. Experiencing a bit of the quiet and comfort of these places, you finally reach near Lake Ampola, the current biotope and final destination of the route: designated piers, observation points, and information panels guide visitors through these special natural environments, allowing an understanding of their specific and extraordinary nature. The cycle path ends right near the pedestrian path, located on the river that flows into the lake, beyond which you enter the biotope, where you follow the dirt trail.

    Directions

The Ledro Valley can be reached both from the south and the north along the state road SS 12 of the Brenner or the A22 motorway (Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord exit), continuing along the state road SS 240 towards Riva del Garda and Storo.

The valley can also be reached from Riva del Garda by following the Ponale trail, traveled annually by 500,000 hikers attracted by its extraordinarily spectacular nature. Its winding path carved into the rocky wall climbs the steep mountain slope, offering breathtaking views of the entire Lake Garda.
