Lessinia Ring - medium (Mountain Huts Loop)
A pleasant hike along the forest roads and mountain huts on the meadows of Lessinia
<p>The itinerary crosses some typical habitats of the plateau: from coppice forest to conifer forest and pastures, meeting some of the many mountain huts dotting the landscape on the plateau’s meadows. The route, mainly on dirt and forest roads, includes several detours that extend the loop and go to other mountain huts in the area. </p> <p>Starting from Sega di Ala, precisely from the Albergo Alpino, we head to Malga Maia. On the way we will find one of the last groups of centuries-old beeches of Lessinia, the oldest inhabitants of the plateau. The itinerary continues through pastures and along a ridge reaching Malga Lavacchione. From there the path continues through a dense fir forest to emerge near Malga Revoltel. <br/>Shortly before reaching the hut, you can choose to extend the route and continue on the forest road to Malga Coe di Ala and then climb up to Cima Castelberto (1765 m), where the panorama ranges from Adamello to the Brenta Dolomites in the distance, Monte Baldo with the Carega group closer by.<br/>If you choose instead to follow the proposed route here, you head at a right fork along a trail to Malga Campo Retratto, then continue to Malga Lavacchietto and return to the starting point through Malga Maia passing beside Dos del Canon.</p>
