Hiking trail • Alpe Cimbra Folgaria Lavarone Luserna
SAT - E425 - Folgaria - Bècco di Filadonna
It is the most truly alpine route of the Alpe Cimbra, a route that connects Folgaria (1270 m) to the Bècco di Filadonna (2150 m), the main peak of the Vigolana massif. Managed by the SAT (Trentino Alpine Society), it is marked with trail number 425.

The route starts from Folgaria West, at the end of Via del Parco. We follow the beautiful forest road that climbs the left orographic side of the deep and panoramic Val di Gola, a former military road from the Great War. With several hairpin bends, on a very beautiful and never exhausting path, you reach the Costila Spring. A few minutes after the spring, the trail continues now straight and flat, crossing a tall forest area and shortly after exiting it, with a view of the cliffs from which, in the sixties, a landslide erased a section of the road. After crossing the restored section and reaching a panoramic ridge, the military road is found again, which you follow for a long and comfortable stretch until the signage indicates to leave it. Here you turn right and climb a short ramp to emerge just behind the little church of San Vigilio, overlooking the underlying grassy basin, at the center of which stands the Rifugio Paradiso hotel.

After passing the little church, continue north with a steeper ascent, first on open ground, then crossing a wooded section. After a viewpoint, continue along the ridge passing among the dwarf pines, then leave trail 453 to the left and shortly after, on the right, trail 451, and soon you reach the Cornetto di Folgaria. Trail 425 continues along the ridge heading north, where it is joined first by trail 425B (dedicated to Giovanni Gentilini) and then by trail 439 coming from the Strada della Fricca. E425-2.

Continue passing near the Second and Third peaks and then, with some descents, staying just below the ridge on the Val di Gola side, continue until you reach the west side of the Bècco di Filadonna, where trail 442 intersects. Climb a little more and, at altitude 2125 m, pass near the summit of the Bècco di Filadonna. From here, with an easy side trip to the right, it is possible to reach the summit (ten minutes).
