I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Daniele Silvestri
One of the most original singer-songwriters on the Italian music scene, blending irony with social awareness, will perform at the closing concert of I Suoni delle Dolomiti, against the backdrop of the Sella Group and Sassolungo
I Suoni delle Dolomiti are unique encounters between music, nature and silence. In a theatre without walls, where the landscape becomes the stage, artists and audiences share the walk and the listening experience. Harmonies intertwine with the breath of the mountains in an experience that exists only here and now.
I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Daniele Silvestri. Pian de Jiadoes - Val Salei (Canazei), Saturday 3 October at 12:00
Programme
"Pian de Jiadoes", with its wide alpine meadows, provides the setting for the Roman singer-songwriter Daniele Silvestri. Born in 1968 and awarded the Targa Tenco for Best Debut Album in 1994, he has, over the course of his long career, won over a wide and diverse audience thanks to the blend of irony and commitment that unmistakably defines his songs. From the Sanremo, the Italian song festival, to several editions of the 1 May Concert, from Havana to theatre projects, collaborations with Emergency and live performances with Niccolò Fabi, Max Gazzè, Rkomi, Bandabardò and many others, Silvestri has established himself as a key figure on the Italian singer-songwriter scene. The setting for this year's concert is an enchanting corner of Val di Fassa above Canazei, a key starting point for hikes in the Sella Group.
How to reach Val Salei
- From the small church of San Floriano in the historic centre of Canazei, take path no. 655 towards Val Mortic/Pian de Frataces ("Lupo Bianco"). Continue towards Passo Sella, then enter Val Salei. Once out of the wooded section, the clearing of "Pian de Jiadoes" opens up (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes' walk; approx. 600 metres' ascent; difficulty E)
- From Campitello, take the cable car to Col Rodella, then walk downhill towards the Salei and Carlo Valentini mountain huts, where you join trail no. 655 (approx. 1 hour's walk; descent 400 m; difficulty E)
- From Canazei, drive to Pian de Frataces ("Lupo Bianco"), then walk along trail no. 655 (approx. 1 hour's walk; descent 300 m; difficulty E)
Admission to the concert is free. The cost of the cable car ticket is to be paid by participants. Panorama Pass and Dolomiti Supersummer passes are valid. We recommend arriving at the concert venue at least one hour in advance and wearing clothing suitable for the altitude: a windproof jacket, hat, gloves, a blanket and sturdy hiking boots.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be postponed to the following day, Sunday 4 October, at the same time; if this is not possible, it will take place at 5:30 pm on Sunday at the Marmolada Theatre in Canazei. Free tickets will be distributed at the theatre box office from 3:30 pm, subject to availability.
