I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Stauffer & European Union Youth Orchestra
For the closing of the festival at Fuciade, the wind instruments of the European Union Youth Orchestra will join the strings of the Stauffer Academy to pay tribute to Beethoven, conducted by maestro Jean-Christophe Spinosi
I Suoni delle Dolomiti are unique encounters between music, nature and silence. In a theatre without walls, where the landscape becomes the stage, artists and audience share the journey and the act of listening. Harmonies intertwine with the breath of the mountains, in an experience that exists only here and now.
30 years of I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Stauffer & European Union Youth Orchestra. Fuciade Rifugio (San Pellegrino Pass), Sunday, 4 October at 2:00 p.m.
Programme
Stauffer & EUYO Ensemble is an orchestra born from the meeting of two European institutions of excellence: the Stauffer Academy in Cremona and the European Union Youth Orchestra. This lively and fruitful collaboration has been giving voice to young classical music talents in shared, wide-ranging projects for several years now. At I Suoni delle Dolomiti, this partnership finds its highest expression in the golden setting of Fuciade, lit up by the warm tones of autumn and immersed in the vibrant silence of the peaks. The concert that will close the 30th edition of the festival will see musicians from the two institutions join forces on the lawn-stage for a Beethoven tribute, conducted by the renowned French maestro Jean-Christophe Spinosi. The Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral" and the third movement of the Quartet Op. 135, in a transcription for orchestra, will be performed: two pieces that depict nature not only as a backdrop but as a musical protagonist, in perfect harmony with the spirit of I Suoni delle Dolomiti.
How to get to the Fuciade Rifugio: from Moena, by car to San Pellegrino Pass (parking available), then on foot along an easy forest road (approx. 50 minutes walk, elevation gain 50 m, difficulty level E).
