La Magnalonga dell'Alta Vallagarina
The first and longest-running wine and food walk in Trentino
Non-competitive walk among the vineyards and the villages of upper Vallagarina.
An 8 km non-competitive walk through the vineyards and villages of Besenello and Calliano.
Now in its 27th edition, this year’s “Magnalonga” theme is “Una fortezza di sapori” (The fortress of flavours), that celebrates the new itinerary twisting and turning among the gentle slopes of Calliano and Besenello, crossing “Rio Cavallo”, and heading to Diestrobeseno, up to the magical Castel Beseno, the greatest keep of Trentino, which will host one of the refreshment points of the itinerary. Along the away will be present 9 enogastronomic stops, attractions, entertainment, and craft shows.
The approximately 8 km route is predominantly unpaved and unsuitable for strollers; baby carriers are recommended. Pets are permitted to participate in the experience, provided they are kept on a leash.
2025 Menù:
STAGE 1 – WELCOMING
- Welcoming coffee or tea, and a biscuit.
STAGE 2 – APPETIZER
- Appetiser with “polenta concia” from the Trentino peasant tradition. VEG: vegetarian “polenta concia”.
and a glass of local wine.
STAGE 3 – FIRST COURSE
- “Strangolapreti” (green spinach gnocchi) with melted butter.
and a glass of local wine.
STAGE 4 – REFRESHING JUICE
- Elderberry juice.
STAGE 5 – CHEESES
- Trentino cheeses, and honey.
and a glass of local wine.
STAGE 6 – BREAK
- Apple slices.
STAGE 7 – SECOND COURSE
- Second course with “luganega” (italian thin pork sausage) with potatoes and bell pepper cream VEG: Vegetarian course.
STAGE 8 – DESSERT
- “Fortaie trentine” (funnel cakes) with jam or sugar.
and a glass of local wine.
STAGE 9 – GOODBYES
- Coffee and schnapps.
As usual, a gluten-free menu certified by the A.I.C. of Trentino, with products supplied exclusively by local companies.

- By bank transfer* UNTIL WEDNESDAY 3RD OF SEPTEMBER
- At the office of the Company for Tourism Rovereto Vallagarina and Monte Baldo in Piazzale Orsi 9 (train station) of Rovereto UNTIL SATURDAY 6TH OF SEPTEMBER
The event will also take place in case of rain and there is no refund of the ticket.
For gluten-free and vegetarian menus RESERVATION IS REQUIRED.
Bookings will close once reached the treshold of 2000 people participating in the activity.
