Night at the museum
Guided evening visit to the thematic exhibition "1914-1918. La Gran Vera", which recounts the years in which Val di Fassa was devastated by the First World War
A night at the museum: lights and shadows of the Great War
As the sun sets behind the Dolomites and silence descends upon Moena, the "Navalge" Theatre opens its doors to a truly unique experience: a night-time visit to the interactive exhibition on the First World War, where memory awakens through soft lighting, period sounds and moving stories. Promoted by the Municipality of Moena, the Ladin Cultural Institute, and the association "Sul fronte dei ricordi", and curated by Michele Simonetti and Mauro Caimi, this compelling exhibition is a rich collection of artefacts, documents and personal testimonies. It invites visitors on an intense, immersive journey into the heart of a conflict that left a deep mark on the Val di Fassa and its people. Step through reconstructed trenches, past original uniforms, memorabilia, photographs, films and voices from the front, and uncover the dramatic tale of the Fassa people: subjects of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1914, sent to defend the Russian border, only to find themselves a year later forced to fight against fellow Italians on the very slopes they once called home. Your visit will be guided by a knowledgeable and passionate local expert, alongside historical re-enactors in period costume, who bring the experience vividly to life. Every sound, flickering light and whispered voice from the past will draw you deeper into a story that belongs to us all. An evening to be lived with an open heart - lest we forget.
Price: € 10 per person; € 8 for children aged 10 to 14; free for children under 10. Compulsory registration directly at the exhibition in Moena or by calling +39 377 3011363 (min 5 people - max 20 people).
