In the summertime the 136 different waterfalls documented are a true spectacle of nature, while in the wintertime they are the ideal venue for ice-climbing.
The waterfalls were first discovered by climbers in the mid-80s. Since then, Val Daone - with its water and waterfalls - has become a sort of Canada writ small for ice-climbers, and the valley has turned into a top tourist destination for thousands of sports-lovers, who enjoy both climbing its most famous waterfalls and discovering new ones every year.
The International Ice-Climbing World Cup was held here in 2003. The Valley also hosts top international events every year.
