With a route of 49 km and an elevation gain of 1630 meters, you start cycling on the Predaia plateau on little-frequented forest roads with an even surface and some steep stretches that add a bit of spice to the day, before descending towards Castel Thun and climbing back on lightly trafficked secondary roads to the lakes of Coredo. Forest roads cover almost 90% of the path, leading along natural balconies with spectacular views of the Brenta. It is an invitation to immerse yourself in nature at a pace that encourages discovery and the pleasure of cycling.

    Author’s recommendation

A route that combines breathtaking views, forest roads, and two of the most iconic places in the Val di Non: the Sanctuary of San Romedio and Castel Thun.

    Tips and suggestions

An itinerary that combines breathtaking views, forest roads, and two of the most iconic places in Val di Non: the Sanctuary of San Romedio and Thun Castle.

    Roadbook

The route starts from the lakes of Coredo (possibility of a camper stop area), following a pleasant forest road that runs along the water's surface, then descending with a series of rather steep hairpin turns to the Sanctuary of San Romedio, a place rich in history and mysticism, nestled among spectacular rocky walls. After a short visit, the climb on the forest road resumes up to the entrance of the Verdes Valley, from where you continue to the junction for the Sette Larici Restaurant.

From here, you take the forest road towards the Ai Todesci Refuge, from which a descent begins leading first to the Sores Refuge and then continuing to the village of Vervò. Another beautiful forest road, partially following the Jacopeo d’Anaunia Path, offers spectacular views of the valley before descending, with a final steep stretch, to Castel Thun, the other unmissable highlight of this route. From here, the return to Coredo mainly takes place on secondary asphalt roads which, with the mountain groups of the Brenta and the Maddalene in the background, cross small villages with little churches worth visiting, closing this panoramic and varied loop.
