It is designed for cyclists who enjoy a mix of surfaces and are ready for very short portage sections, an integral part of the alpine adventure. Roadbook
From the sports field in Cles, climb to Mechel, following the Lez and then continuing on Via del Monte. After a mixed asphalt-dirt section, reach Verdè, from where a climb on dirt and concrete begins up to nearly the Peller Refuge.
From here, a challenging forest road leads to Malga Tassulla, a small hut surrounded by meadows and wide pastures, where you can find some friendly cows grazing. Here you can take a break to admire the spectacular surrounding landscape. After Malga Tassulla, start the loop around the mountain, reaching the charming Lago delle Salare before starting the descent on a rather steep dirt road, which will lead again to Contre in Caldes.
From Contre, take the cycle path along the Noce River leading to the bridge at Mostizzolo, where it joins the state road for the final stretch back to Cles. For those seeking a generally less busy but longer alternative, it is possible to cross the bridge and head, still on the state road, from Cis towards Cagnò and, before reaching the village, descend right to the Castellaz Bridge and then, through a short tunnel, climb back to Cles.
Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
Accessible by public transport. From Trento to Cles with the Trento-Malè-Mezzana railway line. From Mezzana descend to Cles or Caldes depending on the chosen starting point.
The ticket "One way + FTM BIKE supplement" costs €5.00 and covers both the passenger and the bicycle for all FTM railway routes - it can only be purchased on board the trains of the Trento-Malè Railway.
The service is free (passenger + bicycle) for holders of the Trentino Guest Card.
Reservation of bike spaces on trains is not available.
On intercity buses, bike transport is possible but limited to the available space in the luggage compartment, where the bike must be placed by the traveler.
It is therefore necessary to ensure that there is space.
Seat availability varies depending on the type of bus; on average, transport of up to 2 bicycles is possible. Only single-seat bikes with regular propulsion are allowed.
