We live and die from water: its flow crosses our personal existence and social life. If Francis of Assisi sings of it as a sister, physics reveals properties that are no less fascinating. The text proposes a journey through water, demanding and evocative, navigating between different disciplines. Thus, meanings and hopes emerge that revolve around it, in the variety of its dimensions - from the physical to the ecological, to the explicitly religious, as well as the economic and cultural. In the time of socio-environmental crisis we call the Anthropocene, it is essential to rethink water, to rediscover its symbolic strength and vital power, to inspire us towards new lifestyles.
