After a winter season full of emotions, the Teatro di Villazzano opens its doors to summer with a new theatrical project: "Contemporanea". From May to September 2025, the theatre will continue to be a place for meeting, reflection and experimentation with a line-up of innovative shows, able to tell the present with different and profound languages.
For one weekend a month, the stage will be lit up with a selection of heterogeneous proposals: from intimate narration to political provocation, from sound experimentation to poetry of the body. A summer for those who never stop looking for new perspectives and stories to live.
To make the atmosphere even more attractive, an aperitif DJ set will be organised from 6.30 pm before each show. You can enjoy the craft beers of Foravia while you let yourself be carried away by the music, to enter a theatrical world that will surprise you, inviting you to discover what lies beneath the surface, without giving up moments of lightness and fun.
May opens with two strong and necessary shows. On May 2, Puttana, a theatrical musical directed by Mirko Corradini, transforms sound into language and voice into identity, giving shape to a polyphonic story about social stigmatization. On May 3, La Bambola and La Putana, written by Vittorino Andreoli, brings to the stage two unique acts that investigate violence against women with a raw and direct look.
On 16 May 63azioni explores the theatre as a self-portrait: a poetic performance that stages the parable of a human existence inspired by the poetry of Agota Kristoff. On May 17 it's time for QAnon Revolution, Evoè's show!Theatre that, between myth and chronicle, investigates the world of contemporary conspiracy, revealing its charm and pitfalls.
In July there is room for lightness and irony. On July 11, Too Beautiful to Be True, written by Massimiano Bucchi, humorously addresses the issue of gender prejudice in the scientific world. On 12 July, Tonight! by Andrea Barello features a clown in desperate search of love, between hilarious gags and poetic moments.
August reflects on madness and memory. On August 8, Castagne Matte explores the history of psychiatric internment with a grotesque and ironic language. On August 9, Dario Natale paints a journey between memories and soundscapes, in a story suspended between time and the resistance of memory.
September closes the season with two intense and visionary shows. September 5 A show for those living in times of extinction brings to the stage the voice of a generation struggling with the fear of disappearance. On September 6, Nick Payne 's Constellations explores the infinite possibilities of love through the theory of parallel worlds.
An exploration without boundaries, for those who want to discover new contemporary narratives and continue to experience the emotion of the scene. Even in summer.
