The work is placed in the genre of alternative history or, to put it in English, of "what if", in which the author takes his cue from the defence of Rome from 8 to 10 September 1943 and imagines a different ending.
The plot is enriched by a police story, which the author needs to be able to describe the climate of the Capital in those crucial days.
In a Rome that is preparing to face the German reaction that will follow the announcement of the armistice, the body of a senior officer of the Royal Army is found, mysteriously killed. The man held a key position in the organization of the defense of the Capital, so the implications for the security of the State are evident.
Inspector Martelli, one of the best investigators in Rome, is in charge of the investigation, alongside Captain Federico Arrighi, collaborator of the victim.
The two will have the few days leading up to September 8 to come to terms with the matter and bring the culprit to justice.
Participation is free and admission is free.
