On Saturday 15 November, the Teatro SanbàPolis in Trento will have the great pleasure of hosting the return of one of the most active groups on the Italian scene: Casino Royale.
Like a phoenix Arab, Casino Royale are always reborn from their ashes, looking ahead, aware of the road taken and the life lived every day outside the musical artistic context. Established as one of the most original bands on the Italian scene, thissummer the collective led by Alioscia Bisceglia took to the stages of the most important Italian festivals together with the eclectic producer Clap! Clap! (from MI AMI in Milan to Sherwood in Padua, passing through the Arena Wave in Modena, the Casa del Jazz in Rome, the Stateless Festival in Ivrea, and many others) to present SMOKE live, a new work released by Asian Fake on 23 May.
Co-produced by Clap! Clap!, a producer with an international career and visibility, SMOKE is a real 'suite', a stream of 'sound images' collected into songs, designed to be heard in sequence. The will is to go in the opposite direction to the fast and superficial rapid listening that often predominates musical fruition today.
A sound story where words describe the current scenarios, recounting clashes, exasperated dualisms, anxieties, dangers and relationships between individuals and groups that lead once again to the end of wanting to rely on the "positivism of the will". Stop, observe, reflect and understand how to act and fight for change, coming out of the fog that makes this universe of individuals blind and intoxicated by the "SMOKE" that surrounds us.
It is since their first work in Italian in 1993 that the Milanese band, one of the longest-lived and seminal of the Italian scene, foresees in a certain sense the coming true of a worsening drift for this system and this Western society. In this work we return to the current history with this pre-apocalyptic climate and we do it by working artistically in a collective way with several hands and with several heads.
